The translators I came to live with do not own a vehicle. In order to get the several cases of equipment in and out we had to ride to town for an hour, rent a vehicle, drive it back as close to the house as possible and the load it into a wheelbarrow to haul it the last 300 yards or so across muddy trail. At one point we trie driving it in a 2 wheel drive and got stuck
As we walk with the wheelbarrow people see and join along and often offer to help.
From there we drive into town and unload into a van which takes us to the plane.
